Some balance cards that are used with [i] Merchant can be recycled, and used again. For a balance card to be eligible for recycling, the Must Scan box in Tender Properties for the balance card in question must be checked.
To access the Recycled Balanced Card program:
From the Main Menu, select Tools-Administration-Database Maintenance-Global Edits-Recycle Balance Cards. The Recycle Balance Card Find screen will appear.
From here, simply run a basic search to find the recyclable balance cards that you want to reuse. Once the search is run, all applicable cards will display in the grid at the bottom of the screen.
Highlight the balance cards you want to recycle, and then click on the "Recycle Card" toolbar icon near the top of the screen. A dialogue box appears, asking if you wish to continue. Click on Yes to recycle the card. (Clicking on No returns you to the Find screen without the card having been recycled.)
You are returned to the Find screen. The card (or cards) you just recycled now have an "X" at the beginning of the Account Number. This is a visual key to seeing which cards are recycled and which are not. Any Account Numbers without an "X" at the beginning are not recycled cards. Those with an "X" are.
When a card is recycled, the Scan ID column for that card is blanked out. The account is set to Not Active.
