The grid at the bottom of the Find windows is where records appear once you have performed a search. For example, if you search for authors with the last name of King, all matches will display in the grid at the bottom of the Find Author window.
There are a few basic things you should be aware of regarding the display grid.
The columns are sortable and adjustable.
If you want to move a column, click on the heading and drag it to where you would like it to be. For example, if the First Name column appears before the Last Name column in the Find Author grid but you want the order to be reversed, click on the Last Name column heading and drag it to the left of the First Name column. The Last Name column now appears before the First Name column.
If you want to increase or decrease the width of a column, "grab" the edge of the column heading cell with the cursor and adjust the cell as desired. If you want to have a certain column disappear, decrease the width entirely, and the column will no longer be visible.
To sort the list, click on any of the column headings. The list will be sorted alphabetically based on the column heading you clicked on. If you click on Last Name, the displayed list will be sorted alphabetically by last name. If you click on the same column heading a second time, the list will be sorted in reverse. So if you click on Last Name a second time, the list will now be sorted in reverse alphabetical order by last name.
All of the display grids have the above features in common. If you are just getting acquainted with [i] Merchant, it would be a good idea to experiment with the grids to get a feel for how they function.

Note: |
The functionality of the grid will operate differently for Find screens where you have the Grouping option turned on. Clicking on a column heading with Grouping activated will call up the "Choose Groups and Totals" window rather than resorting the records based on the column you clicked on.
