The Customize option under the Tools menu on the [i] Merchant Desktop is user-definable. Each user can select an [i] Merchant background image for his or her PC, decide whether or not toolbars should be displayed, and determine the default Industry when adding a new product to the system. Additionally, each user can determine which Product Finder will display when they log in to the system.
Select Tools from the [i] Merchant Desktop menu. A submenu appears.
From this submenu, select Customize. The Customize box appears.
If you want to choose a background image for your [i] Merchant application, click on the Background button.
Navigate through your files and choose the background image you want.
To choose whether you want [i] Merchant toolbars to display on your PC:
Check or uncheck the box to the left of "Toolbars" within the Customize box. Checking the box means the [i] Merchant toolbar will display. The icons in this toolbar are shortcuts to some of the modules and functions within the system. Unchecking it removes the [i] Merchant toolbars from your PC.
You can decide what you want to have appear on the toolbar.
From the [i] Merchant Desktop, click on the down arrow to the right of the Help toolbar icon. A dropdown list appears, displaying a list of toolbar options. To erase a toolbar icon from your [i] Merchant Desktop, just click on the checkmark to the left of the items on the list you want removed from the toolbar. They will vanish from the toolbar. To have an item return to the toolbar, click on the empty check box. The checkmark will reappear and the item's icon will return to the toolbar.
You can determine what Industry should be the default when adding products to the system.
Click on the down arrow at the right of the Default Industry field, then select the default Industry of your choosing. Of course, when adding a new product to the system, you can change the Industry whenever necessary, if it differs from the default established here.
You can determine which Product Finder you want to display.
Under the "Product Finder" section, simply select one of the three options. You can choose to go with the Tools-Options setting, or you can explicitly tell the system which of the two Product Finder options you want displayed, regardless of what the setting in Tools-Options is.
