After logging in to [i] Merchant, the [i] Merchant Desktop window appears. This is the jumping-off point. There is a standard Windows pulldown menu on the top of the screen, and there are a few buttons on the toolbar for your convenience. These toolbar buttons will create a shortcut to some of the most-used aspects within the system.
The choices under the pulldown menu will change, depending on what window is active. For example, the Edit and View menus have no choices for you to make when you are in the [i] Merchant Desktop. However, when you go to another window, you may have choices appear under the Edit and View menus.

From the [i] Merchant Desktop window, the File pulldown menu allows you to print the screen, add something new to the system, or access a record that is already on the system.
To print any screen:
Select Print Screen from the File menu. Whatever the active screen is, that screen will print.
To create a new record:
Select New under the File menu. A new menu appears.
From this new menu, select the appropriate category. For example, if you want to add a new customer, select Customer from this menu.
To access a record that already exists on the system, do the following:
Select Open from the File menu. A new menu appears.
From this new menu, select the appropriate category. For example, if you want to access an existing customer, select Customer from this menu.
Or...
Click on the toolbar button for the appropriate category. This is a nice shortcut and does the exact same thing.
From this point, you will access the record you want and then edit it, view it for accuracy, or delete it.

The Modules pulldown menu provides access to the various modules within [i] Merchant.
Reports provides access to the different report templates within the system.
Interfaces allows you access to the Above the Treeline Web site and the Venstock.com Web site. It will also take you to the Neilson Bookscan interface program and the Booksense Web site.
Tools is primarily for the system administrator. Aspects of the system such as user security are set here. One choice under the Tools menu that any user can select and modify is the Customize option.
The Window menu operates just like it does in other Windows applications, such as Microsoft Word. A list of all open [i] Merchant windows displays under the Window menu. To navigate to another window, simply select it under the Window menu.
